Team World Suggestions

As tradition, after WC finishes, the World vs Japan event takes place however we'd like to hear your input as to how WOR would be assembles. The staff have thrown a few ideas together but we'd also like to know if anyone else has ideas to share.

1. - Large FFA where the top X amount of players will become Team World (the FFA will take place regardless of whether we use this method).
2. - We incorporate the current WC standings or results vs JPN to assemble the strongest players suitable to the match.
3. - Each nation nominates a certain amount of players to represent them as WOR (the number of players a nation can nominate is respective to the size of the team's roster).
(4). - Community wide election where the community say who should be in the team.

That's what we have come up with so far, and we'd be open to any suggestions so long as they're appropriate and effective.

Why creating a Team World ? Team France already managed to beat Japan...

WOR vs FRA then? :p

How about no WOR match because (nearly) everyone chosen will decide to be individualist?

We need to play the playoffs first, we can't guess who will win.

I don't understand this. Is it one player from every country? And how many people will actually be on "team world"

If any option, #3 or #4.

#5 My idea being to not have a team WOR.

@CrazyKG: It's just fun tradition from MKW, it is not to say JPN is some super-force by any means
@Vexus: WORvsJPN would be 16v16 but there's not really a stringent limit to the amount of people in WOR, though something like 25 would sound pretty reasonable
@Crony: Why not expand on your point instead of wasting post space.

Everyone will disagree with the list and cause arguments, and this game was dead from the start.

This is my personal preference. Typically, in 'MKW World Matches', friends just pick friends; this way the MK7 can distinguish some great players. Anyway, a world team should be the best players, not just a group of friends.

I don't play MK7 a lot, so I'm not 100% how this works. I think this could be an idea, though perhaps some countries don't have enough for a proper world match? I think one full FFA should decide it, so it decides current skill.

just my 2 cents, feel free to disagree, respond and whatnot, keep in mind i hardly play mk7 and this is based on how i view the making of mkw world teams.

Personally I agree with option 1 since it puts past reputations aside and actually decides who is best.

I completely disagree with any option based on the results from a FFA or from a competition. We all know how unpredictable MK7 is, and even the best players can hugely fail in one competition.

Voting sounds like a better option to me. People shouldn't vote for their best friend, as there's really no benefit in doing that, and it's only one vote against the votes of the whole community.

How are the WOR LUs chosen in MKW? It shouldn't be too hard to try the same for MK7.


FFAs or war results are terrible options btw. FFAs are way too luck-based and the individual scores of wars do not reflect a player's skill or usefulness for the team at all.

Some of the best and well-established players should get together and discuss possible candidates for WOR. With 'best and well-established' I mean players who are still active in the game, who have been playing this competitively for a considerable amount of time, who have a lot of experience with the competitive community and who have played with and against the majority of competitive war players. It would probably a good idea to start off with the clan leaders of the most established clans in previous PL seasons, people like Rookie for instance.

In MKW, they're usually chosen by a few select people so it's a bit elitist, honestly. I know Linkin pretty much handled the LU's in a recent WOR vs JPN which has been uploaded to Youtube by various people, including Adam. Even though it may be a bit elitist with plenty of room for them to spread their wings a bit in terms of who's picked, WOR for MKW is quite well-represented.

However, the MK7 community seems a lot more open to community-based decisions, so I think that option 4 would be acceptable. Option 3 would be as well, as countries could then nominate who they feel would best represent WOR, however I'm more inclined to go with option 4 personally.

Just to get an idea of the timeframe, when is this proposed WOR vs JPN meant to be taking place? And how plausible is the possibility of 20v20/24v24 to staff members?

It won't be taking place...Unless of course someone else besides demon or I is willing to organize it.

And I doubt JPN can ever get 12 at any given time, if that.

There's little point in organizing this when most of the top JPN players could care less and are inactive for the most part.

I don't have enough patience now to organize such a thing like this and I'm not enough mature.

Plus,I think that the Team World is a very bad idea,not because LsR decided to make a topic only now,just because everyone can't agree with everyone and there would be a ton of problems at creating the team and even in the site/chat there would be some players complaining about the team world aka why am I not in the team blablabla......which would be very annoying .

Disagreements are going to happen no matter what. That can never be avoided. But it would still be cool to be able to do a WOR vs JPN match at least once surely. It's happened in MKW many times, and will definitely happen in MK8, so why not MK7? I'm sure that with at least a bit of persuasion, Japan could muster up enough players.

I find this idea reallystupid and useless.
It's not like we aren't able to defeat team JPN with a normal (national or not) clan. Plus team WORLD without Japan wouldn't be team World though. Finally, I think we would look ridiculous if we play versus Japan with it..
