World Cup 2014 - Discussion
We'll definitely be delaying a week at this point. 8v8s will be the war size as well, so borderline teams need to get a few more players. We'd also prefer to have 8 teams so we may need to cut someone or work out a new format.

This is a problem for BNL, i'm not sure if we're in the position to get 8 players online at the same time. i'll try to organize this with our team though.

I've asked for a few days in the chat, and ITA is pretty sure to be able to 8v8, but we're still unsure if we can get 8 players available at the same timeRookie wrote:We'll definitely be delaying a week at this point. 8v8s will be the war size as well, so borderline teams need to get a few more players. It'll be almost impossible for team Canada to get 8 members online at the same time, and it seems this is the case for a few other teams. Maybe teams could decide on wether they would 4v4 or 8v8, or maybe the could play one match one day, and the other match another day.

While Italy has at least 8 players, it doesn't mean we can always have all of them available at the same time. That's a rather demanding task for us.

Okay, I want opinions from people.........
There are currently nine teams signed up and I don't know how else we could organize this competition to be finished in ample time unless we downsize it to eight.
Should we drop the team with the lowest number of participants? Should we wait for a country to volunteer to drop out? Should we change the structure?
Please offer feedback here.
Honestly, Rookie doesn't feel like leading Team USA anymore so I'm being left with trying to lead it. The core members we originally signed up have little motivation, so I'm probably just going to add all of our subs as official members. I would volunteer USA to be dropped, but I feel like I shouldn't since USA has plenty of people who could play....................

I think there should be 3 groups with 3 teams in each. The teams will play the teams in their groups for sure, if not all the teams. The top team in each group, as well as the best 2nd place team should advance to the semi finals.
This is what I think

You shouldn't drop any team in my opinion. The structure with three groups could be interesting but I am not sure about which one would be the best

Like Mark said about BNL, I highly doubt about 8v8 for it, and the fact we got people who barely war at all and even 1 guy who never warred (He was interested in the world cup though).

USA and CAN + Sorapol and Tattle have combined to make NA so that there are eight teams.

The WC will have a schedule structured tomorrow. Expectt matches this weekend. Spread the word. 4v4s / 8v8s are still being discussed atm.

That would be cool if every team could do 8v8s, I think everyone is waiting for playing it.

We can't guarantee that we will always be able to play 8vs8. Expect Italy to have reschedules and/or give freewins if 8vs8s are adopted.
The problem isn't that we don't have enough players; the problem is that many of us are often busy and not available to play at the same time.
If you really want to play 8vs8, the only possible way to have Italy play every match is to merge it with another team. Otherwise don't be surprised if things don't go as planned for us, because it's a task beyond our capabilities.

I suppose another way is to play one half of the 8v8 (a 4v4), and then do the other half against the same team later, within the same week.

I agree with Mecha, but of course with two different LUs.

if this is starting in two days from now, you'd better come up with a solution to the 8v8 problem, or this will get very chaotic.

13.00 for ESP vs JPN is a bad horary because we are in the job or in the school so we can't.

Re: World Cup 2014 - Discussion
With the difficulty of scheduling for nearly any combination of two teams, 8v8 is really unrealistic.
Edit: oh, it's not actually required for BNL. 4v4s are possible, I suppose.

Cant we just make world cup a 4v4? That would simplyfy everyone's life.
On a side note; yes dawn, people go to school on saturdays (i do, for example)
Oh, and a question; is alting in PL something that might result in a ban?

Sorry for the double post but shouldn't someone make a "standings and schedules" thread?
